UACJ concludes lecture series on Juan Gabriel's legacy

The Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) concluded its lecture series, ‘Así fue. Vida y obra de Alberto Aguilera Valadez’, dedicated to exploring the life, work, and cultural impact of the Mexican icon Juan Gabriel.

The final session focused on the multifaceted legacy of the artist, including his film career and how his cinematic appearances helped build a sense of closeness with his audience. The presentation, titled ‘Juan Gabriel y la fábrica de sueños’, examined his films beyond their cinematic value to understand the process of his rise to fame.

Participants in the discussion included UACJ Academic Secretary Guadalupe Gaytán Aguirre, Orchestra Director Lizandro Valentín García Alvarado, and professor Erick Arenas Góngora. The event aimed to analyze the deep connection between the artist and Ciudad Juárez, noting that the city's popular culture is inseparable from his history.
