UADER student develops GranjaControl poultry management app
Gregorio Santolaya, a student at the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos (UADER), has developed GranjaControl, an application designed for the comprehensive management of poultry farms. Santolaya is currently in his final year of the University Technician program in Farm and Poultry Production at the Instituto Tecnológico Universitario (ITU) in Crespo.
Since its launch in April, the application has experienced significant growth. It is currently used by 11 farms of varying scales to manage approximately 400,000 birds, tracking 50 different variables essential to poultry farming. The technology has already been adopted by establishments in several Argentine provinces, including Mendoza, Río Negro, and Tucumán.
Santolaya, who previously worked as an operator in various poultry companies, developed the app to improve industry efficiency. Following the project's success, he was invited by UADER officials, including Rector Luciano Filipuzzi, to discuss the institutional support and development of the tool.
