UAE advances fiscal strategy through BRICS cooperation and budget reviews

The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) participated in the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026 in New Delhi, India. Led by Director General Abdulaziz Al Mulla, the delegation engaged with tax officials from 10 BRICS administrations to discuss emerging challenges, technology, and tax administration. Al Mulla emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the development of transparent, technology-enabled tax systems to support economic growth.

Separately, the UAE General Budget Committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, reviewed the draft federal budget for the 2027 fiscal year. The committee is also preparing for the 2027-2029 planning cycle. The review focused on enhancing the government's financial framework by utilizing artificial intelligence and advanced technologies to improve fiscal efficiency and data analysis.
