UAE and Gulf markets maintain investment stability amid regional tensions
Economic experts and officials report that Gulf markets, particularly the United Arab Emirates, maintain high levels of investment stability despite regional geopolitical tensions. Dr. Abdullah Al Awadhi, an economic expert at the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, stated that there has been no widespread withdrawal of capital from Gulf markets. He noted that while some asset prices have fluctuated due to geopolitical developments, the region's robust legislative frameworks and economic diversification continue to attract investors.
The UAE is leveraging its logistical position and economic stability to strengthen the BRICS group. According to UNCTAD data, the UAE recorded 177.3 billion dirhams in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in 2025, ranking ninth globally. The country's total FDI stock has reached approximately 1.171 trillion dirhams, and it secured 1,562 new investment projects, placing it second worldwide. Officials from the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre emphasized that the UAE's active membership in BRICS serves as a strategic gateway, facilitating economic integration and providing a platform for global market partnerships.
