UAE and Israel establish joint military defense fund
The United Arab Emirates and Israel have reportedly entered into a significant defense partnership involving a joint fund intended for advanced military procurement. The agreement reportedly involves substantial financial resources, with claims of a fund reaching trillions of dollars aimed at acquiring drones, anti-drone systems, hypersonic missiles, and potentially tactical nuclear weapons.
Reports indicate that Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Abu Dhabi to finalize the agreement with Mohamed bin Zayed. As part of this cooperation, in December 2025, the UAE reportedly paid $2.3 billion for an electronic defense system from the Israeli firm Elbit Systems. The partnership is characterized as a strategic alignment combining Emirati financial resources with Israeli military technology, aimed at regional interests including the protection of energy assets and countering Iran.
