UAE and Nigeria partner to modernize port infrastructure

The United Arab Emirates and Nigeria are advancing a maritime partnership aimed at modernizing Nigerian port infrastructure. Following a visit by UAE Consul-General Salem Al-Jaberi to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, efforts are shifting toward operationalizing economic agreements.

A central component of this collaboration involves the partnership between Nigeria’s Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the AD Ports Group. The initiative seeks to leverage UAE capital and logistics expertise to address long-standing issues in Nigeria, such as manual processes, high clearing costs, and infrastructure bottlenecks that hinder non-oil exports.
