UAE and Syria discuss strengthening economic and developmental ties

UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, with a specific focus on economic and developmental cooperation. The meeting took place during al-Sharaa’s working visit to the UAE, where he participated in the 24th Arab Media Summit 2026 in Dubai.

The leaders emphasized the importance of a recent visit by an Emirati economic delegation to Syria, which aimed to establish frameworks for economic recovery and strategic projects through sustainable development partnerships.

In addition to bilateral ties, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly regarding the security and stability of the Middle East. They underscored the necessity of establishing foundations for regional and international security to serve the interests of all peoples.
