UAE business delegation to visit Lebanon to explore investment

A large economic delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, is scheduled to visit Lebanon on August 26 and 27. The group, consisting of approximately 67 to 70 business leaders and executives, aims to sign agreements with the Lebanese private sector and explore opportunities for upgrading services at airports, seaports, and border crossings.

The scale of the visit serves as a significant political and commercial signal regarding the normalization of relations between Lebanon and Gulf nations. While the mission represents a major indicator of interest for the Lebanese private sector, observers note the distinction between commercial prospecting and actual capital investment. For Lebanon, which continues to face economic challenges from banking crises and regional security uncertainties, the success of the mission will depend on whether these meetings translate into funded projects and new employment opportunities.
