UAE business expansion: Carmignac and GWC Group increase regional presence
Several major firms are expanding their presence in the United Arab Emirates to capitalize on regional growth. French asset manager Carmignac has opened its first Middle East office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The firm intends to focus on distribution for institutional investors, private banks, and family offices, citing the rapid pace of wealth creation in the Gulf and the need for an on-the-ground presence.
In the logistics sector, Qatar-based GWC Group has expanded its UAE operations by establishing two new subsidiaries dedicated to the commercial trading and energy sectors. The group has also entered a strategic partnership with Meydan Free Zone to link company formation services with its regional logistics and distribution network. These moves are part of a broader effort to strengthen multimodal trade corridors across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
