UAE cultural landmarks launch new heritage experiences
The Zayed National Museum has launched a guided tour to commemorate Emirati Women’s Day, tracing the history of women in the UAE through 3,000 years of heritage. Running from August 1 through late September, the tour spans five galleries that explore ancient civilizations, traditional roles, and the contributions of influential figures. Key highlights include the influence of Sheikha Salama bint Butti on the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the educational advancements led by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
In Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has introduced a monthly lunar light experience titled ‘The Moon Has a Story. . . Told by Light.’ This five-minute visual display uses light to illustrate the phases of the moon and their connection to the UAE Hijri Calendar. The initiative aims to blend Islamic astronomical heritage with contemporary visual arts, highlighting the scientific and cultural importance of lunar observations in Islamic civilization.
