UAE denies Iranian claims of drone attack on Al Manhad Air Base

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense has denied claims made by the Iranian military regarding a drone attack on Al Manhad Air Base. The Iranian military stated that it targeted the base, which it described as a location for US helicopter and troop deployments, using dozens of kamikaze drones in retaliation for recent actions involving Lark Island.

The UAE Ministry of Defense issued a statement asserting that such reports are untrue and emphasized its readiness to defend national sovereignty and security. The ministry urged citizens to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading misinformation.

In a separate statement, the UAE Air Force reported intercepting a drone approaching its territorial waters from the direction of Iran. Amidst the rising tensions, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, called for realistic political solutions to address the crisis, noting that the current state of ‘neither war nor peace’ is unsustainable. He advocated for the normalization of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and a move toward political stability.
