UAE Dirham Holds Steady Against Egyptian Pound in Egyptian Banks
On 2‑3 August 2026 the United Arab Emirates dirham remained stable against the Egyptian pound across the Egyptian banking system. The Central Bank of Egypt quoted a buying rate of 13.70 EGP and a selling rate of 13.74 EGP per dirham. Major banks reported similar levels: National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, and Bank of Alexandria all listed buying rates between 13.67 EGP and 13.70 EGP and selling rates between 13.71 EGP and 13.75 EGP. A few institutions, such as HSBC and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, showed slightly higher spreads, but the overall range stayed within 13.70‑13.75 EGP per dirham. The dirham’s value is anchored to the US dollar at roughly 3.67 AED per USD, contributing to the observed price stability.
