UAE expands strategic partnerships with India and the EU
The United Arab Emirates is expanding its strategic partnerships through enhanced industrial and diplomatic cooperation with India and the European Union.
At the third India–UAE Defence Industry Forum in Abu Dhabi, a 26-member Indian industry delegation met with UAE officials and companies to discuss joint manufacturing, research and development, and supply chain technology. The discussions aim to align India’s ‘Make in India’ programme with the UAE’s ‘Make it in the Emirates’ strategy, building upon a Strategic Defence Partnership Framework signed in May. While bilateral meetings covered advanced technologies and manufacturing, no new production contracts were announced at the event.
Simultaneously, the European Union highlighted its evolving relationship with the UAE, noting its transition from diplomatic ties into a broad economic, political, and security partnership. The EU serves as the UAE’s first investment partner and second trade partner. Current cooperation efforts are focused on climate action, artificial intelligence, technology, and regional security stability.
