UAE gold jewellery demand expected to rise during festive and wedding seasons

Jewellery retailers in the UAE are anticipating a surge in gold jewellery demand during the second half of 2026. Industry leaders attribute this expected growth to a combination of the upcoming wedding season, major festive celebrations including Navratri, Diwali, Christmas, and New Year, and an influx of tourists during the cooler winter months.

Shamlal Ahamed, managing director for international operations at Malabar Gold and Diamonds, noted that these factors are expected to drive gifting and festive shopping. Similarly, John Paul Alukkas, CEO of Joyalukkas Jewellery, observed early signs of renewed buyer interest as customers begin planning for upcoming celebrations. Retailers aim to support this demand through value-added offers, flexible payment plans, and collections that blend traditional and contemporary designs.
