UAE implements digital monitoring for National Air Quality Agenda 2031

The United Arab Emirates is advancing its clean air strategy through the National Air Quality Agenda 2031, a framework designed to align federal and local government entities with the private sector. The agenda focuses on three primary pillars: monitoring, mitigation, and management, covering outdoor and indoor air quality, ambient odour, and ambient noise.

To support these goals, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has implemented digital tools, including the National Air Quality Platform, which offers a real-time overview of air quality conditions nationwide. Additionally, a new centralised digital dashboard has been operationalised to collect and manage monitoring data from local environmental authorities. This system replaces fragmented submissions with a standardised national digital workflow, enhancing data quality assurance, analysis, and national reporting to support evidence-based policies.
