UAE imposes July 9 deadline for overstay waiver and adds six nations to visa‑on‑arrival list

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced that the temporary exemption from overstay fines granted to visitors during regional air‑space closures will end on July 9. Affected tourists must either regularise their visa status or leave the UAE before that date.

In a separate move, the UAE broadened its visa‑on‑arrival programme. Citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa – in addition to India – are now eligible for a 14‑day or 60‑day stay, provided they hold ordinary passports and a valid residence permit issued by a listed country. The changes aim to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral ties.
