UAE introduces Golden Residency for top students
The United Arab Emirates has introduced a five-year Golden Residency permit specifically for high-achieving secondary school students. Managed by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, the program aims to attract global talent to support the nation's long-term development goals.
To qualify, students must maintain a minimum academic score of 95 percent and obtain a recommendation letter from the UAE Ministry of Education. The residency allows eligible students and their families to live, study, work, and invest in the country without the need for a traditional sponsor.
This initiative aligns with broader migration trends in the region. As global migration rises, professionals and families are increasingly prioritizing destinations that offer robust education systems, career advancement, and business opportunities. The UAE has established itself as a major international hub, currently hosting residents from over 200 nationalities.
