UAE leads in digital trade finance and cryptocurrency adoption
The United Arab Emirates is demonstrating significant growth in digital economic sectors, according to recent industry reports. A Standard Chartered study titled ‘Navigating an Age of Structural Uncertainty’ ranks the UAE first globally among 27 surveyed markets for planned investment in digital supply chain finance platforms. Approximately 69% of UAE businesses intend to invest in these platforms over the next three to five years, driven by a need for supplier resilience and real-time visibility.
In the digital asset sector, the UAE has risen to second place globally in the Henley & Partners Cryptocurrency Adoption Index 2026. The country achieved a perfect score in tax system attractiveness due to its lack of taxes on trading, holding, or mining cryptocurrencies. Additionally, the UAE ranked second globally in innovation and technology, supported by government initiatives related to blockchain and digital currencies.
