UAE Ministry detects 377 fake Emiratisation cases in 266 firms
The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) identified 377 instances of ‘Fake Emiratisation’ across 266 private sector businesses during the first half of 2026. This practice involves falsely registering UAE citizens to meet employment requirements without providing them with genuine job responsibilities, duties, or career paths.
MoHRE stated that these incidents are isolated and do not represent a widespread pattern within the national labor market. However, the Ministry is taking legal action against the involved enterprises in accordance with Cabinet Decision No. (43) of 2025. The authority emphasized that such practices distort labor market indicators, waste resources intended for real employment, and deny genuine professional advancement opportunities to committed Emirati citizens.
The Ministry aims to ensure that Emiratisation policies foster a productive workforce by creating meaningful connections between citizens and the private sector. Companies and citizens are encouraged to report suspected violations via the Ministry’s hotline, website, or smart application.
