UAE participates in second G20 Finance Ministers meeting

The UAE Ministry of Finance participated in the second meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, held in Asheville, North Carolina, on August 31 and September 1, 2026. The meeting took place under the United States’ 2026 G20 Presidency.

Discussions centered on several critical economic and financial priorities, including the global economic outlook, sovereign debt challenges, and addressing global economic imbalances. Participants also addressed the role of the private sector in supporting investment and growth, as well as cooperation regarding digital transformation and skills development.

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, emphasized the necessity of international coordination to foster sustainable and balanced economic growth. He highlighted that investing in human capital, technology, and innovation is essential for building resilient, competitive economies capable of adapting to rapid global changes.
