United Arab Emirates pledges $10 million in humanitarian aid to Haiti
The United Arab Emirates has announced $10 million in urgent humanitarian aid to support the response to the ongoing crisis in Haiti. Directed by President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and overseen by Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the funds will be distributed through the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
The aid program is designed to address critical needs including food security, shelter, medical supplies, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. The initiative aims to support internally displaced persons and the most vulnerable populations facing the consequences of rising violence and insecurity.
Implementation will be coordinated with UAE diplomatic missions, international organizations, and humanitarian partners to ensure aid reaches the areas of greatest need. This assistance comes as Haiti faces a severe humanitarian situation, with international data indicating over one million people have been internally displaced.
