UAE Police Issue Road Safety Alerts After Recent Collisions

Sharjah Police released a video on August 7 showing a large SUV merging from a side street and colliding with a smaller car, using the footage to warn motorists to check the road before entering or merging onto main lanes. The agency highlighted that sudden swerving is a leading cause of traffic accidents in the UAE and urged drivers to stay focused, avoid distractions and drive responsibly.

Abu Dhabi Police issued a separate safety video warning drivers not to stop their vehicles in the middle of traffic lanes, even for flat‑tyre emergencies. The police advised motorists to move to the nearest safe exit or location, and to call the Command and Control Centre at 999 for assistance if a vehicle cannot be moved, in order to prevent chain‑reaction crashes.

Both police forces are intensifying public‑awareness campaigns to improve road safety across the emirates, emphasizing vigilance, proper handling of emergencies and adherence to traffic rules.
