UAE President Mohammed bin Zayid thanks US support, calls for Gulf security
At a G7 summit in Evian‑les‑Bains, United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayid Al Nahyan praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent backing, saying the partnership “strengthened our strategic ties” and was crucial during the six‑week US‑Israel‑Iran conflict, which he described as a test of real allies.
His diplomatic adviser Enver Gargaş urged Gulf Arab states to reject any aggression, noting Iran’s attacks on the UAE and neighboring Gulf nations. Gargaş highlighted the newly reached US‑Iran cease‑fire agreement of 14 June, which includes provisions to end hostilities, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the U.S. naval blockade, calling for respect of sovereignty and regional stability.
