UAE regulators partner to oversee commercial gaming sector
The UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). The agreement establishes a formal framework for cooperation, information exchange, supervision, and investigations within the commercial gaming sector.
As the gaming industry is a developing regulated sector in the UAE, the partnership aims to provide regulatory certainty for businesses operating within ADGM and the broader UAE financial system. The collaboration focuses on areas where the mandates of the two regulators overlap, specifically regarding the monitoring of financial flows and maintaining market integrity.
The agreement does not merge the two entities or alter their individual supervisory powers; rather, it creates a defined channel for coordination to ensure an internationally aligned regulatory setup and to respond effectively to emerging risks.
