UAE residency rules: Golden Visa and family sponsorship eligibility

The United Arab Emirates offers various long-term residency options, including the Dubai Golden Visa and family sponsorship programs.

The Golden Visa is available to several categories of individuals, such as investors, entrepreneurs, property owners, skilled professionals, scientists, and creatives. Eligibility is determined by specific requirements for each category, which may include demonstrating qualifying capital, ownership in approved structures, or providing evidence of exceptional talent. Costs for the Golden Visa vary based on the applicant's category, medical examinations, and related government procedures.

Regarding family residency, women living in the UAE are eligible to sponsor their children's residence visas. To qualify, a sponsor must meet a minimum salary requirement of Dh4,000, or Dh3,000 plus accommodation. Under current regulations, expatriates can sponsor unmarried daughters indefinitely. For sons, sponsorship is available up to age 25, provided they are enrolled in an accredited institution.
