UAE signs MoUs on digital initiatives with Ericsson and Qatar

Ericsson and the Dubai Digital Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore joint digital projects that will support Dubai’s ambition for advanced connectivity, AI‑enabled city operations and broader digital inclusion. The agreement was signed by Petra Schirren, President of Ericsson Gulf, and Matar Al Hemeiri, CEO of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment, in the presence of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Separately, the UAE Ministry of Interior and Qatar’s Ministry of Interior concluded a MoU on data protection covering six joint security projects, including network linkage, a bilateral electronic system for traffic violations, traffic‑system integration, financial settlement of fines and the electronic exchange of deportee and unidentified fingerprint data. The pact aims to deepen security cooperation, improve information sharing and apply advanced technologies to enhance regional stability.
