UAE suspends all trade and financial dealings with Iran

The United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran until further notice. This decision follows the detection of two Iranian ballistic missiles by Emirati air-defence systems. One missile landed within UAE territorial waters, while the other fell outside them.

The move comes amid escalating regional tensions and a breakdown in US-Iran negotiations. The conflict has impacted the global economy, contributing to higher oil and gas prices and disrupting shipping routes. In response to the standoff, US President Donald Trump has increased rhetoric regarding the Strait of Hormuz, warning Oman against obstructing negotiations.

Regional aviation has also been affected by the instability. While many Gulf routes remain operational, several airlines, including flydubai and Air Arabia, have reported flight cancellations and delays on routes connecting the UAE to Bahrain and Kuwait. UAE airports are currently increasing operational readiness to manage passenger flows amidst these shifting schedules.
