UAE Team Emirates announces five new signings and rider injury update

UAE Team Emirates has announced a significant recruitment drive aimed at its Gen Z project, securing five new riders to bolster its roster for the coming years. The new additions include 18-year-old Mexican talent José Emilio Rodríguez from A.R. Monex, French rider Simon Defrance from the Soudal Quick-Step development team, Václav Ježek, Riccardo Lorello, and Luca Martinez.

In separate news, UAE Team Emirates rider Isaac Del Toro attributed his disappointing 28th-place finish at the Ronde van Lombardije to physical issues. The 22-year-old Mexican cyclist cited mysterious knee pain that emerged following a flight to Italy, alongside general fatigue from a long racing season, as the primary reasons for his inability to compete for the win.
