UAE Team Emirates eyes contract extensions for Isaac del Toro amid Tour de France success

Mexican climber Isaac del Toro, who finished on the podium at this year’s Tour de France, is in contract talks with UAE Team Emirates. His current deal runs until 2029, but the team is reportedly considering a renegotiation that could extend his stay and improve terms, especially as rival French rider Paul Seixas is also being linked with the squad. Seixas, whose contract expires in 2027, has attracted interest from several teams, and his potential move could affect del Toro’s position as the second GC leader behind Tadej Pogačar.

Team manager Mauro Gianetti praised the emotional moments of the Tour, highlighting Pogačar’s fifth overall victory and the camaraderie shown when teammates helped each other, such as Tim Wellens waiting for Adam Yates. Gianetti said the most memorable scene was the support shown on the 17th stage, underscoring the team’s collective spirit beyond individual wins.
