UAE Tops 2026 Global Mobile Internet Speed Ranking, US Falls Out of Top 10

A Speedtest study released by Statista for May 2026 ranks mobile internet speeds worldwide. The United Arab Emirates leads with a median download speed of 642.86 Mbps, more than triple the performance of many developed economies. Qatar follows in second place at 570.41 Mbps, and Kuwait ranks third with 373.62 Mbps, underscoring the Gulf region’s dominance in mobile infrastructure.

The top‑10 list also includes Bahrain (271.06 Mbps), Brazil (266.32 Mbps) – the highest‑ranked Latin American nation – Brunei (254.20 Mbps), South Korea (245.17 Mbps), Saudi Arabia (226.17 Mbps), Vietnam (210.85 Mbps) and Bulgaria (209.95 Mbps). The United States falls to 11th place with a median speed of 205.71 Mbps, while China scores 170.80 Mbps, both outside the top ten.

The ranking reflects the rapid rollout of 5G networks and ongoing upgrades to mobile broadband across the surveyed countries.
