UAE denies rumors of residency visa cancellations and aid to Iran

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, has issued a formal warning against coordinated disinformation campaigns targeting the country. Gargash characterized these efforts as “desperate media campaigns” conducted by “directed media platforms” intended to distort UAE policies and undermine its regional position during a period of significant geopolitical shifts.

Specifically, Gargash dismissed rumors regarding the mass cancellation of workers’ residency visas and claims that the UAE has provided financial facilities to Iran, labeling both as incorrect.

In response to reports concerning the potential dismissal of Egyptian workers, Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials clarified that there is no mass wave of terminations. Egyptian authorities stated that circulated cases are individual incidents often linked to residency rule violations and that current UAE reviews of visas and entry permits do not specifically target Egyptian nationals.
