UAE weather forecast: High heat and dust storms expected
The United Arab Emirates is experiencing extreme weather conditions, with temperatures in inland regions forecast to reach between 45°C and 49°C. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reports that the country is being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an upper-air low-pressure system.
Strong wind gusts of up to 45km/h are expected, particularly in mountainous areas, which may stir up widespread dust and sand. Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution in open and exposed areas. While most of the country will see fair to partly cloudy skies, convective clouds are expected to develop over eastern and southern regions in the afternoon, bringing a chance of rainfall.
Coastal and island regions are expected to remain cooler, with highs between 39°C and 45°C. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to remain slight.
