UAEH students rank in national top 20 for programming

Two teams of female students from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (UAEH) placed within the national top 20 during the inaugural Mexican Women Competitive Programming League. The teams secured the 13th and 16th positions in the undergraduate category.

The participants included Karla Margarita Segura Monroy, Dulce Denisse Isidro Torres, Norma Angélica Zerón Espinosa, Ashley Torres Pérez, Nicole Abigail Chow-Flores, and Jazmín Virgilio Escamilla, representing degrees in Computer Science, Automatic Control and Robotics Engineering, and Applied Mathematics.

Supported by the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), the competition aims to reduce the global gender gap in technology, where female participation is approximately 20 percent. The event, hosted by the Centro de Investigación en Tecnologías de Información y Sistemas (CITIS), featured approximately 80 delegations from both public and private higher education institutions.
