UAEMéx Faculty of Economics resumes classes after student‑faculty dialogue

Classes at the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) resumed on Wednesday after students returned the facilities to university authorities. The protest began on the first day of the 2026‑2027 school year (August 4) when students occupied the building, warning they would continue the strike without an agreement. Hours later the protest was lifted following a dialogue table that produced undisclosed agreements.

UAEMéx announced the establishment of a dialogue table involving faculty authorities and central administration to address the students’ concerns, including alleged fraudulent certifications that allegedly cost students over 250,000 pesos each. The university said it has already imposed administrative sanctions on those responsible and will continue investigations in coordination with judicial authorities. The institution emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the academic and personal development of its community.
