UAEMéx hosts 11th International Biennial of University Visual Art
The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx) has inaugurated the eleventh edition of its International Biennial of University Visual Art. Held under the conceptual theme ‘Habitar la memoria’ (Inhabiting Memory), the exhibition features 25 works by national and international artists exploring identity, territory, and human experience.
For the first time, the biennial awarded a special distinction to students from indigenous peoples. Kaede Akari Sánchez Flores, a student from the Faculty of Arts, received this special prize for her work titled ‘¿Qué es lo que recuerdas de mí?’.
Other notable winners include Alvar Emilio Villalobos Viterbo in the Higher Level Students category and Juliana Rojas Gutiérrez in the Advanced Studies and Academic Staff category. The event, held at the Centro Tolzú in Toluca, was attended by UAEMéx Rector Martha Patricia Zarza Delgado and Secretary of Identity and Culture Cynthia Ortega Salgado.
