UAEMéx hosts Pablo Picasso lithograph exhibition
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), in collaboration with the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER), has launched the international traveling exhibition ‘Picasso, aún sorprende’ (Picasso, still surprising). Held at the Fernando Cano Gallery in the Rectorate Building, the exhibition focuses on the life and work of Pablo Picasso, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
The collection features 39 lithographs and one original poster, showcasing various stages of the Spanish artist's career. Notable works included in the display are ‘Les Bleus de Barcelona’, ‘Bailarines’, and ‘Geneviève’, along with two preparatory drawings related to the ‘Women of Algiers’ series from La California.
During the inauguration, UAEMéx Rector Martha Patricia Zarza Delgado emphasized the university's commitment to an open culture model. She stated that the institution aims to treat access to, creation of, and participation in cultural expressions as rights available to everyone, positioning university spaces as hubs for social participation and artistic encounter.
