UAEMéx implements participatory budget and new scholarship regulations
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has implemented several institutional changes, including the first edition of its Participatory Budget. More than 57,000 students participated in the vote, representing over 52 percent of the university community. The selected projects will focus on academic classroom equipment, common areas, and coexistence spaces.
In addition to the budget exercise, the University Council approved the designation of Bordo 'Las Maravillas' as a Protected Natural Area under the 'Water Sanctuary' category to preserve the wetland. The Council also appointed new directors for the Faculties of Accounting and Administration, Geography, and Engineering.
Furthermore, a new Scholarship, Support, and Stimulus Regulation has been published. This regulation allows students to simultaneously access one scholarship, one support, and one stimulus, provided they meet the compatibility criteria of each call. The support covers various levels, including high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies, addressing needs such as transportation, food, and academic excellence.
