UAEMéx introduces inclusive furniture for left-handed students

The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has introduced new classroom furniture designed for both right-handed and left-handed students to promote inclusivity and improve learning conditions. Through the Secretariat of University Management and Administration, the institution acquired and distributed 7,855 desks of various models.

Of the total furniture acquired, 941 desks are specifically intended for left-handed students. The distribution includes different styles, such as green plastic shell models, polypropylene desks, and padded desks. Jacqueline Villa Hernández, head of the General Warehouse Department, stated that providing appropriate equipment aims to increase student comfort and support academic performance.

The university plans to maintain an availability of approximately 10 percent of desks for left-handed students in each academic space, though this ratio may be adjusted based on the specific needs of different university communities.
