UAEMéx launches digital high school and participatory budget
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has launched several new initiatives to enhance its educational services and infrastructure. The university has officially implemented its Digital Baccalaureate program, a technological alternative designed to expand educational coverage and reduce learning gaps for youth in the State of Mexico. The first cohort includes 532 students from six preparatory school campuses, who will have access to standard university services including libraries, computer labs, and scholarships.
Additionally, the university has introduced its first participatory budget mechanism titled ‘Tu Voz, Tu Presupuesto’ (Your Voice, Your Budget). Under this initiative, the university community—including students, faculty, and administrative staff—can vote on how to allocate 55 million pesos. These funds are designated for equipment and maintenance projects, such as laboratory upgrades, library modernization, and improvements to electrical and sanitary installations.
