UAEMéx launches e-waste recycling campaign

The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), through its Dirección de Fomento Ambiental, is running the 2026 Campaign of Electronic Waste Collection from 17 August to 22 October. Collection points are set up at the Faculty of Accounting and Administration, the Continuing Education Directorate, the Administrative Building, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning, the Antonio Abraham "La Violeta" building, the Lic. Adolfo López Mateos preparatory school, and the Rector’s Office.

Accepted items include smartphones, laptops, tablets, game consoles, cameras, printers, routers, USB drives and other electronic devices, while monitors with cathode‑ray tubes, white‑goods, toner cartridges, broken glass, batteries and similar items are excluded. After collection, all materials will be transferred to the specialist recycler Reciclatrónica for environmentally‑appropriate processing and material recovery. Special drop‑off sessions will be held on 29 September and 14 October at the Faculty of Accounting parking lot, where participants receive a plant or other gift provided by Probosque and Reciclatrónica.
