UAEMéx proposes formalizing physiotherapy research center

To mark the 25th anniversary of its Physiotherapy degree program, the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has proposed formalizing the Center for Care, Training, and Research in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (CACIFTO) as an official academic department.

University Rector Martha Patricia Zarza Delgado announced the initiative, which will be presented to the University Council. The goal of formalizing CACIFTO is to strengthen academic research, professional training, and healthcare services tailored to the functional health needs of the population.

The anniversary event included commemorative ceremonies, the unveiling of a plaque, and academic panels discussing inclusive physiotherapy and social commitment in healthcare. The program aims to integrate professional training with functional recovery and disease prevention to better serve the community.
