UAEMéx weightlifting team begins preparation for 2027 ANUIES Nationals

The weightlifting team from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has begun its competitive preparation for the 2027 ANUIES National University Championships. This process commenced with participation in the Copa Potros 2026, held at the Guillermo Ortega Vargas University Gymnasium.

Coach Miguel Ángel Cantún Caamal noted that the competition served as a vital benchmark to evaluate the athletes' performance levels. Several students secured podium finishes across various categories. Notable first-place winners include Sara Luna Jasso (sub-23, 63kg), Andrea Calixto (sub-23, 53kg), Karen Abigail García (sub-17, 48kg), Perla Gabriel (sub-17, 48kg), and Rodrigo González Uribe (sub-20, 79kg).
