UAE's Etihad Rail launches first passenger service between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah
Etihad Rail has opened bookings for the United Arab Emirates' inaugural passenger rail line, linking Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The journey, covering roughly 250 km, takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. Fares start at AED 55 for Comfort Class and AED 120 for Premium Class, with tickets available via the Etihad Rail app and website.
The service operates up to 13 trains, each capable of carrying 400 passengers and equipped with modern seats, Wi‑Fi and power outlets. This first route is part of a broader plan to create an 11‑station national network across the UAE, eventually connecting major emirates including Dubai, Sharjah and others by 2027.
