The lavender harvest has commenced at ‘Lavanta Denizi’, a 55-decare lavender field located in the Ulubey district of Uşak. Established in 2018 with support from the Provincial Special Administration and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the site was founded using 55,000 seedlings.
Beyond agricultural production, the garden has evolved into a local tourism destination. Visitors are drawn to the fields during the blooming period in late June and early July, when the landscape turns purple. The facility processes the lavender into various products, including oils, colognes, and soaps, using distillation machinery in Ulubey.
Owner Haşim Deniz Öziş stated that the project began to fulfill his wife Dudu Öziş’s dream of having lavender near their home. The business has expanded to include visitor amenities such as a cafeteria to accommodate the growing number of tourists attracted by the site.
