UAPA students win entrepreneurship award for AI school dropout prevention tool
Students from the Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA) in the Dominican Republic secured third place in the 2026 National Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT). Their winning project, ‘Aula Digital RD’, is an artificial intelligence-driven educational platform designed to prevent school dropout rates by monitoring student engagement and supporting teachers.
The project team, consisting of software engineering and business administration students, received seed capital and recognition for their innovation. The platform aims to ensure that no student disconnects from the educational system without timely intervention.
