UAPB defeats Florida A&M 31-28 in homecoming upset
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) defeated Florida A&M University (FAMU) 31-28 at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, spoiling the Rattlers' homecoming celebration.
Despite playing without starting quarterback Garrison Davis due to a leg injury, the Golden Lions relied on a strong rushing attack that totaled 211 yards. Jalen Williams, Za’Marion Webber, and Jaylen Jennings each scored rushing touchdowns. Backup quarterback Jack Scheirholz contributed 140 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Demetric Whitlock Jr.
Florida A&M quarterback Armand Parker accounted for 376 total yards and three touchdowns, but the Rattlers could not overcome UAPB's momentum in the third quarter. After FAMU took a 19-14 lead early in the second half following a kickoff fumble recovery, UAPB responded with an 84-yard drive and a touchdown pass to extend their lead to 28-19.
