UASD dean candidates present reform plans and sign academic alliance
Candidates for the deanship of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) – Edita Rodríguez and Aldelys Rodríguez – outlined comprehensive programmes aimed at modernising teaching, research, postgraduate training and external partnerships. They emphasised a transparent, participatory management model, stating, “We believe in a united faculty, strengthened by experience, driven by innovation and committed to academic excellence.”
Separately, rector‑candidate Radhamés Silverio and dean‑candidate Eliosnet Vidal signed an agreement with the Colectivo Profesoral Artes 250 to bolster the Faculty of Arts. The pact focuses on enhancing education, research, cultural outreach and institutional stability. Silverio described the deal as “the result of dialogue and shared criteria on the future of state university education,” while Vidal said it will “strengthen academic quality and expand the cultural presence of the Faculty of Arts.” Both initiatives seek to improve the university’s governance and academic standing.
