UASD Rector Jorge Asjana David addresses salary rumors and university sports

Jorge Asjana David, the rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), has been the subject of false reports regarding a unilateral salary increase. According to institutional protocols, any collective salary adjustment must be approved by the University Council, not by the rector alone. The rector’s current remuneration is reported to be RD$481,246.00.

Separately, the UASD has commenced the protocol ceremonies for the Tony Barreiro University Games. The Olympic torch was received at the central headquarters following a national tour of various university centers. This edition of the games honors university athletes who recently secured over 50 gold medals in national competitions.

The university is also marking its 488th anniversary, which included a recent 5K walk to promote health and wellness within the academic community.
