UASD strengthens scientific ties with Japanese physicist Kazuo Tanaka

The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) is advancing its internationalization strategy through a four-day visit by renowned Japanese physicist Kazuo Tanaka. Dr. Tanaka, an associate researcher at CERN and a professor at Waseda University, is engaging in academic and scientific collaboration focused on particle physics and cosmic ray detection.

During his visit, Tanaka has met with university authorities and representatives from the Embassy of Japan in the Dominican Republic. His agenda includes delivering lectures to professors and postgraduate students on quantum physics and innovative teaching methods. Additionally, he will visit the UASD-Azua Center to share educational experiences from Japan, such as the ‘Accel Kitchen’ program, which utilizes portable detectors in schools to study cosmic rays.
