UASLP Faculty of Law faces protests over gender violence allegations
A feminist collective at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) Faculty of Law has launched a new protest using a 'tendedero' (clothesline) to display allegations of gender violence, misogyny, and harassment. The protest targets specific faculty members and accuses the institution of covering up misconduct.
Students are also demanding greater autonomy, alleging that male professors are interfering in faculty decisions for political reasons. The demonstrations follow previous student mobilizations and a recent seven-point petition that the UASLP administration claims to have accepted in full. Despite the university's commitment to follow up through its Human Rights Defense Office, the new protest indicates ongoing tension and dissatisfaction within the academic community.
